Poultry except waterfowl exhibited at fairs must be accompanied by written proof (ID card or test report) that the flock was blood-test-negative for Pullorum-typhoid and Avian Influenza within 365 days prior to entry date. Call at least 30 days prior to the show. See State health rules page 4. FOR BLOOD TESTING: ED HAGMAN, 617- 626-1796, PLEASE LEAVE NAME AND FULL PHONE NUMBER WHEN CALLING. Exhibitors are encouraged to send a photocopy of the Pullorum test with their entry, or show proof at show.

POULTRY ENTRY FORM IN BACK OF CATALOG

 

RULES

1. Department will be open to take entries Thurs. September 2, from 6 p.m. 8 p.m.

2. Prize money will be paid for all breeds by Spencer Agricultural Association. Show Specials to be announced at show.

3. Entries limited to 2 per class, per breed, per exhibitor.

4. No exhibit may be removed before 6 p.m. Sept. 6. Exhibitors may coop out between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6. A car pass will be issued, 1 per family, to bring the car on the grounds for pick up of animals on Monday only, after 6:00 P.M. Cars must be removed immediately after loading.

5. Junior exhibitors are for boys and girls 8 through 20 years of age as of January 1 of the current year.

6. Pre-junior: Under the age of 8. Ribbons Only, no premiums will be paid. Will be judged on the Danish system.

7. All poultry will be inspected before being entered. Birds showing signs of sickness or disease shall be removed.

8. The Fair Association will provide feed for the animals.

9. The Fair management and the poultry department shall take all due precautions but shall not be responsible for the loss or damage of any exhibit.

10. All exhibitors are responsible for the following:

a. All cages must be cleaned before 10:00 A.M. daily.

b. Furnishing containers for food and water.

c. Exhibitors should be present if possible during judging.

d. If any of the above are not done daily before 10:00 A.M., the exhibitor may be asked to leave. No Money or Entry Fees will be awarded.

11. A pass will be issued to each exhibitor over 7 years of age and to one parent per family.

12. No late entries will be accepted. No entry changes at the show.

13. Entries are limited and accepted on a first come first serve basis

Prizes: First, $4.00; Second, $3.00; Third, $2.00; Fourth, $1.00

A trophy will be given to the Champion and Reserve Champion of the Show and

Champion Bantam, Standard, Waterfowl

Rosettes for Best and Reserve Best Standard

Bantam, Duck, Goose, Turkey, Production, Pigeon, and Dove.

1. Roosters will compete once or twice during the Fair.

2, Roosters will be scored on the number of crows in a given length of time.

POULTRY SHOWMANSHIP

Sunday – September, 5 2010 1:00 P.M.

 

1. Pre-Junior Division Under the age of 8, (ribbons only)

4. Junior Division Ages 8 – 11

3. Intermediate Division Ages 12 – 14

2. Senior Division Ages 15 and older

5. Novice Division Anyone over the age of 8 (as of Jan. 1st) with no previous showing experience

 

Dress Code

Poultry Exhibitors: White shirt or blouse, dark pants or skirt. Dress jeans are acceptable.
